After studying Secondary Education and Philosophy at the Seminary in Lourenzá and Mondoñedo (1961-69), he took a degree in Theology at the Pontifical University of Salamanca (1969-73). Miguel Anxo Araújo Iglesias ordained him as a priest on 1st May 1976 in Xove. He also took a degree in Catechesis Pedagogy in Madrid (1986-88). He was the ecclesiastical administrator of Riobarba (O Vicedo) and priest in Cabanas and Ambosores (Ourol) from 1976 to 1984, Ribadeo (1984-1986), As Pontes (1988-91) and Catechesis diocesan delegate since 1988, moderator in Cazás and Lousada (Xermade), Santaballa, Belesar, Distriz and Codesido (Vilalba) from 1991 to 1995, director of the Diocesan School of Spare Time (1992-94), priest of Santiago-San Francisco de Viveiro, chaplain of Valdeflores Monastery and parish administrator in San Román do Val (O Vicedo) from 1995 to 2000, priest in Santa María de Neda and director of the Diocesan Theology School (2000-2001). He was the moderator of the Pastoral Unit in As Pontes and vicar in Ferrol, Catechesis diocesan delegate and teacher at the Theology Diocesan School and ‘St Agustin’ Institute of Religious Sciences. Since June 2006, he fills the office vicar-general of the bishopric of Mondoñedo-Ferrol.

 Work & Activities

He elaborated and published catechesis materials in collaboration with the Galician Board of Catechesis Delegates for children, adults and catechists. He collaborated with the weekly paper ‘Heraldo de Vivero’ from 1995 to 2001 and on several occasions in the magazine of the Board of Easter Brotherhoods of Viveiro and in ‘Tribuna da Costa’, supplement of the newspaper ‘El Progeso de A Mariña’.
