He graduated in Mathematics (Statistics and Operative Investigation) and Hospital Economic and Administrative Management in Barcelona. He is a referee of the International Handball Federation and handball trainer. He got a diploma on Sports Medicine and Sciences from the Spanish Olympic Committee and the Federation of Sports Medicine. From 1988 to 1990, he filled the office of director of Management and General Services at 'Cristal-Piñor' Hospital in Ourense. Since July 1990, he has been the director of Management and General Services at 'Xeral-Calde' Hospital in Lugo. He was a handball player in the first division and was elected the best player of Lugo in junior category. He was a referee of the honourable handball division since 1988, 'B' international since 1989 and referee of the International Handball Federation. He attended World Junior Championship as timekeeper (Galicia, 1989) and the Olympic Games of Barcelona (1992). As a referee, he attended the European Junior Championships in Poland (1985), France (2000), the World Junior Championships in Ivory Coast (1997), China (1999) and the World Feminine Championship in Germany (1997). He refereed international handball matches in seventeen countries.

 Other Interesting Aspects

He was awarded the merit medal of the Galician Handball Federation (1996), the annual prize of the Galician Handball Federation in 1989 and 1995 and the silver medal to the sports merit awarded by the Spanish Handball Federation (1993). He is married and has two children.
