He studied Secondary Education in Ourense. Then he moved to Valladolid and got a degree in Arts in 1920. Shortly after he left Spain and established himself in Buenos Aires.
He first published two short novels titled O xardín do castelo de Vidre (A Coruña, 1926) and Ladaíña (1927).Then he wrote short theatre plays where he defended his ideology in favour of Galicia: A morte de Lord Stanler (1929), Tres conversas: O tolo de Lastra, Dente de Ouro, A Gavilla (1930), O outro (1930), Pancho de Rábade (1930) and the poetry books Sulco e vento (1931), Matria (1935) and Antología de la lírica gallega. He also wrote some books in Castilian language such as Las caracochas (1922), Los villanos de Armentar (1923), Sol de media noche (1925), El pazo de Lebre (1929), Mr Borrow en Finisterre (1935), El cementerio de Noya (1935), Los Santos de España (1939), Santiago de Compostela, corazón del mundo (1939), Ana Amelia (1940), Sonetos brasileños (1941), Breve Historia de España (1942), España, cuerpo y alma (1946), Valoración de la conquista (1947)...Some of the speeches and lectures he made are also preserved.
