She took a doctor’s degree in Linguistics at the University of Santiago de Compostela. She is a Professor in the Faculties of Philology and Philosophy.
As a research worker, she focused on the impact of globalization in minorized languages and matters related to language epistemology: ‘Universales del lenguaje y linguo-diversidad’, Barcelona, Ariel (2001) and ‘La lingüística en el conjunto del conocimento’, Lugo, Tris-Tram (2002).
She also published novels: ‘A xeira das árbores’, Sotelo Blanco (2004) and ‘Herba moura’, Xerais (2005) and essays: ‘Outro idioma é posible’, Galaxia (2005) and ‘A palabra das fillas de Eva’, Galaxia (2005).
Part of her work was translated from Galician into other languages.
