He studied Secondary Education in Ourense and started Medicine in Santiago de Compostela, although he soon gave up to study Philosophy. He travelled to France to improve his French and after being committed to a psychiatric hospital owing to a nervous breakdown, he moved to Salamanca to study modern languages.
He wrote several novels, stories and poems. These are some of his most important works: El cerezo, La espada, El Chucho and the short novel Una vida en seis meses with some autobiographic aspects.
He met a Belgian girl at Salamanca University, who he married in 1960. They were going to have a baby but on 25th February 1961, they both committed suicide.
