'O estado salvaxe. Espanha 1939' is a performance created after a lot of conversations with my granny. She is the only actress of the play. By means of Super 8 images recorded by my granddad from the 50’s to the 80’s, we will rewrite the story of my family as well as the history of Spain since the Civil War up to date.

It is the testimony of a woman who spent a long time in silence and is longing for talking, having a lot to clarify and repair. It is mainly an act of lucid and extreme love, a romanticism attack before burning the ships. In a letter for her granddaughters, my granny creates her biography and asks herself about her whole past, present and future in a honesty exercice that clarifies what is the meaning of being alive today”. O estado salvaxe. Espanha 1939’ was created in Galicia, Portugal and Argentina. It wasproduced by MARCO (Contemporary Art Museum of Vigo Vigo) and coproduced by Párraga Centre (Murcia) and Temps d’images Festival (Lisbon with the support of Start-Centro Foundation of Artistic Investigations in Buenos Aires, Bad-Museo Guggenheim Festival Bilbao, Vilaflor Cultural Centre (Guimarães), O espaço do tempo (Montemor-o-novo) and Zé dos bois (Lisbon). It was selected by Fabulamundi. Playwrite Europa Project 2013/2014.
