He took his degree in Medicine and Surgery at Santiago University with an extraordinary prize in 1978. He carried out his doctorate studies in Santiago with a work titled Biofísica del láser y su aplicación en Neurocirugía tumoral, directed by Professor Reyes Oliveros and Professor Aldo Fasano from Turin University (Italy) getting 'apto cum laude' mark and an extraordinary prize in 1988. He specialized in Neurosurgery at 'Hospital Xeral de Galicia' under the direction of Professor Reyes Oliversos between 1972 and 1982. In 1988, he was nominated as Neurosurgery assistant lecturer (Santiago University). Since 1991, he has been Neurosurgery Professor at 'Pedro Barrié de la Maza' University Institute of Neuralgical Sciences. He completed his neurosurgical formation at the Neurosurgery Service of Turin University (Italy) and at 'Queen Square' Hospital in London.

 Work & Activities

-He has 160 publications about Neurosurgery in national and international magazines. Eight of them are chapters for books. -He attended 71 medical congresses and presented 168 reports. -He directs every year the course 'Microcirugía Experimental' at the Faculty of Medicine in Santiago. -He took part in five research projects and directed two doctoral theses about Experimental Microsurgery and Nervous Regenerations.
