He studied Secondary Education in Chantada (Lugo). After getting the 'Ramón y Cajal' scholarship, he studied Medicine in Santiago and Madrid. He got the accesit to the best pupil in the sixth year. He was a student of Medical Pathology and Gynaecology. He took his doctor's degree at Madrid University with his doctoral thesis about breast cancer in Santiago. He gave practical classes at 'St Carlos' Hospital and was an invitor Professor of Mammary Pathology. He specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Cytology and supervises installations of x-ray diagnosis.
He has written twenty-four original articles on Gynaecology and Mammary Pathology and 44 reports in conferences on Medicine. He also wrote three books about Mammary Pathology and collaborated in a book about menopause. He promoted and directed the first private maternity hospital in Lugo.
He got a certificate in English at the Language School. He is married and has six children. He loves his family and likes languages.
