In 1977, she took a degree in Mathematics at Santiago University. In 1992, she took a doctor's degree in Medicine and Surgery and got an extraordinary prize at Santiago University. She became specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (1993), Obstetrical and Gynaecological Ecography (1994) and Sinology and Mammary Pathology (1994). She is professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Faculty of Medicine, Professor of doctorate courses in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department and secretary of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Santiago University.

Research works at Santiago University: Reproduction medicine (director), Study on the Pathology associated with the pregnant-puerperal cycle, Evaluation of diagnostic and therapeutic risks and resources (collaborator), Subsidies research-projects: XUGA 20807ª91, XUGA 20804B95, XUGA 20815B95, XUGA 20809B98 and FIS 1999/PF 002. Director of 'Zygos' Galician Centre of Reproduction, which is the only centre in Spain that has all the techniques of ovulation induction (Garh, Gonadotropins) and reproduction-assisted techniques (FIV-TE, ICSI-TE).
