He studied Architecture at the Architecture College in Madrid between 1989 and 1995 and went on with doctorate courses until 1999. In 1995, 1996 and 1998, he worked as assistant lecturer in different Latin American Universities. In July 1993, he got a grant to take part in the Architecture International Workshop in Canet de Mar (Barcelona). In October 1995, he started to work with the architect Alberto Martínez Castillo (Madrid) getting the first prize of the international contest to repair and enlarge 'Museo del Prado' in Madrid (September 1996). In November, he also got the first prize in the 'Contest to build 'Lavapiés Park' in Madrid. In January 1997, he collaborated with the architect Federico Achevarría (Madrid) to develop the competition for an administrative building of Iberia in Barajas (Madrid). In June 1997, he started to work for Imagina&Associates (Madrid), which was the only study in Spain that belonged to the European network of architectural studies Auket & Associates (present in the main European cities), being responsible for the project section for architecture competitions. In April 1998, he opened his own studio in Madrid.

 Work & Activities

-Project for the construction of the power station on the river 'Clerves' (Ribadavia - Ourense).

-Project for a block of 70 flats in Xirivella (Valencia).

-Project for 190 single-family flats in Mazarrón (Murcia).

-Project for the construction of a Cultural Centre in Guntín (Lugo).

-Project for the construction of the provincial central office of the Ministry of Defence in Lugo.

-Project to repair 'Aiguablava' state-owned Hotel and its 'casa de la playa' (Gerona). -Construction of several single-family flats in Madrid and Galicia.

Prizes:

-Third prize at the competition to build the Culture Centre of Monzón.

-First prize at the competition to restore St Ferdinan Barracks and build the Auditorium and Cultural Centre for Lugo.

-First prize at the competition to build the sports centre of Numancia Square (Santander).

-Accesit at the international competition to give ideas for the Fair Area and Congress Building in Palma de Mallorca.

-Second prize at the competition to give ideas for the Central Library of the University Campus of Ourense, dependent on Vigo University.

2008. Third Idea Prize for the access building to the Campus of Justice in Madrid.

 Other Interesting Aspects

In October 1995, he gave the lecture 'El viaje de la arquitectura' at the 'Antonio de Nebrija College' (Madrid) within the congress 'I Jornadas en torno a la arquitectura'. In December 1997, he gave the lecture 'La arquitectura como lenguaje' at the International Seminar of the Complutense University in Madrid titled 'Aportaciones a la biología del lenguaje'.

In April 1993, he travelled to Syria and Jordan to study the cities Palmyra and Petra. In May 1994, he travelled to Finland, Russia and Denmark to study the work by Alvar Alto and Gunar Asplund.

In July 1994, he travelled to France to study the work by Le Corbusier and Jean Nouvel.

In April 1995, he travelled to the U.S.A. to study the work by F. Lloyd Wright, L.I.Kahn, Van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and 'Chicago School'.

In April 1996, he travelled to India and Bangladesh to study the work by Le Corbusier and Louis I. Kahn.
