Curriculum

He took a degree in Medicine and Surgery at Santiago de Compostela University and specialised in Paediatrics and Endocrinology and Nutrition. He completed his education in different Spanish and foreign centres and was a visitor Professor at Columbus Child Hospital in Ohio (USA) and the National Health Institute in Bethesda (USA). Nowadays he is a Professor of Paediatrics and head of the Paediatrics Service. He directs the Endocrinology, Growth and Adolescence Service at the University Hospital in Santiago de Compostela. He was the president of the Spanish Society of Paediatric Endocrinology, member of the board of directors of the Spanish Society of Endocrinology, vice-president of the Spanish Association of Paediatrics and president of the Galician Society of Paediatrics. He is also a member of different national scientific societies and member of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology, the Growth Hormone Research Society, the International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders and the New York Academy of Sciences. He is also a member of the Galician Academy of Medicine and Surgery and the Lawson Wilkins Paediatric Endocrine Society of the USA.
