He studied Secondary Education in Tapia de Casariego (Asturias) and took a degree in Natural Sciences in Madrid. He collaborated in the publication ‘Madrid Científico’ since it was founded in 1894 and the magazines ‘Arte y Letras’ and ‘Actividades’.
He strongly defended the promotion of the Canary Islands from the scientific point of view, supporting the creation of a Faculty of Natural Sciences in Tenerife.
