He took a degree at Santiago de Compostela University. He worked as a lawyer and civil servant at the County Council of A Coruña. He taught the subject 'Introducción al Derecho' at the School of Labour Relations in A Coruña. He filled the office of deputy mayor in the City Council of A Coruña and worked as an art critic in the radio station 'Radio Nacional de España'. Nowadays he writes articles in the newspaper El Ideal Gallego and works as a theatre critic.

 Work & Activities

He collaborated in national and Galician magazines and newspapers as well as in several radio stations. These are some of his most important works: Pompas humanas, Moret, 1952; La manzana podrida, Aguilar, 1957; Guía de La Coruña, Madrid, 1964; Ensayo sobre vocación política, County Council, 1972; Memorias de un gobernador civil, R. Grandío, 1974; RH negativo, ?Lage Rodríguez? Publications, 1976; La ciudad de los mares de esquina, Gráficas R.S., 1984; El caballo de cartón, Valladares, S.L., 2001. He also published stories in ?Radiocinema?, ?La hora?, ?El adelanto?, ?Ediciones y revistas municipales? and El Ideal Gallego. He collaborates as a rapporteur and teacher in cultural courses. He is preparing a new book titled Al pasar las horas.

He is married to Elvira Lage Rodríguez and has four children: Juan Antonio (quantity surveyor), Elvira (philologist), Andrés (biologist) and Mª Isabel (civil engineer). He was awarded 'Relevo', 'Pérez Lugín' and 'Fernando Arenas' Journalism Prizes and holds several decorations.
