He studied Music at the Conservatories in Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Madrid. In 1952, he got a post as musician in the Navy. In 1963, he entered the General Society of Spanish Authors and the National Corps of Conductors of Civil Music Bands. In 1964, he finished his studies on Harmony and Composition at the Music Conservatory in Madrid. He studied Pedagogy and Choral Conductorship with the composers Rivó and Martorell. He attended several courses on Music in Compostela and the International Courses on Orchestra Conductorship (1966 and 1967), conducted by Igor Markevich. In 1974, he entered the Corps of Music Conductors in the Navy, conducting the Music of the marine area of the Bay of Biscay until June 1977. From 1977 to 1990, he also conducted the music of the Military Naval Academy in Marín.

 Work & Activities

He registered several works in the General Society of Spanish Authors such as two Masses and a Lord's Prayer (written in Galician language and recorded by Hispavox), choral works for mixed voices, symphonic poems, quartets and quintets for string and wind instruments and military marches and 'pasodobles' for music band. From 1972 to 1989, he worked as a teacher at the Conservatoire in Pontevedra . Since 1980, he has been conducting the Polyphonic Choral Society of Pontevedra.

Since 1990, he has been responsible for Musical Forms, Harmony and Composition at the Conservatoire in Santiago de Compostela. He has also written the book Cultura Musical.
