After studying Secondary Education, he studied Law at Santiago University and took his degree in 1874. He became a Magistrate but he gave up to become a notary. He worked as a notary and lawyer in A Coruña.
He published several studies on the Galician 'fueros': Ponencia sobre foros; El Derecho Foral de Galicia; Proyecto de Apéndice al Código Civil aprobado por la comisión especial del Derecho Foral de Galicia.
He filled the office of dean in both professional associations he belonged to. In 1904, he was elected deputy in Chantada (Lugo).
