He took a degree in Law at Deusto and Valladolid Universities, at the School of Economics (1955) and at Sorbona University (Paris, 1956). He is the president of S.G.L. Carbón S.A., vice-president of the Spanish Council of Chambers of Commerce and president of the Chamber of Commerce in A Coruña.

In 1960, he created the golf club in A Coruña. He was the president of the provincial meeting of the Spanish Association to fight against Cancer and member of the national committee. He also created a hospital specialised in cancer in A Coruña.
