He studied at the Gregorian University (Rome), Lateranense University (Roma), the Biblical and Archaeological Institute of Jerusalem, the Hebrew University (Jerusalem) and the L’École Biblique (Jerusalem). He teaches Scripture, Intertestamentary and Apocalyptic Literature, Judaism and Manuscripts of the Dead Sea (he presented his doctoral thesis on this theme in 1999) in the Faculty of Theology (Pontifical University of Salamanca). He took a doctor’s degree in Journalism in the Faculty of Information Sciences (Pontifical University of Salamanca) with his doctoral thesis La información religiosa como periodismo especializado. He is a Professor in the Faculty of Journalism (Pontifical University of Salamanca), where he coordinates the area ‘Bible-History’ in the master on Communication, Religion and Culture. The Ministry of Science and Technology has recently nominated him as a member and secretary of the team responsible for the study on the research project Historia de la Biblia en España, approved for Salamanca Pontifical University. He usually collaborates in the following research magazines: ‘Estudios’, ‘Estudios Trinitarios’, ‘Estudios Bíblicos’, ‘Revue de Qumran’, ‘Dead Sea Discoveries’ and ‘Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebreos’. He also collaborates in several newspapers as a columnist and commentator and in the radio stations ‘Cope’ and ‘Radio Exterior de España’.

He wrote the following books: Los Hijos de la Luz y los Hijos de las Tinieblas. Besides, he has written over fifty articles on Theology and Holy Scripture and over three hundred journalistic articles.

 Other Interesting Aspects

He has been a member of the Spanish Biblical Association since 1997 (he has been on the board of directors since 2001) and the Spanish Association of Hebrew and Jewish Studies. He is on the editorial staff of the magazines ‘Estudios’ and ‘Estudios Bíblicos’ (Madrid) and was one of the translators who elaborated the Bible of the Spanish Synod.
