He studied Humanities and Philosophy at the Seminary in Lugo. In 1966, he took a degree in Theology at the Pontifical University in Salamanca. In 1968, he took a degree in History of the Church at the Gregorian University in Rome. Since 1968, he has been a Professor in the Seminary of Lugo. He was a diocesan delegate of Missions from 1977 to 1981 and from 1990 to 1993. From 1981 to 1990, he was also the rector of the Seminary in Lugo. Since 1981, he has been a member of the Diocesan Presbyterian Council. Nowadays, he is also a member of the College of Consultants. In 1990, he got a diploma in Galician Language at the Language School. Since 1991, he has been a canon at Lugo's Cathedral. From 1993 to 1999, he was the Dean of the Cathedral. From 1993 to 1996, he was the Episcopal Vicar of Teaching. Since 1996, he has been the General Vicar of the Bishopric.

 Work & Activities

He published the book El Seminario Diocesano de Lugo (Lugo, 1989) and several articles in the magazine 'Lucensia', which he has edited since it was founded in 1990.
