He studied Secondary Education in Mondoñedo and took a degree in Theology at the Pontifical University and Philosophy at Salamanca University. He taught Philosophy at 'Juan Montes' Secondary School and Education Sociology at the Teaching College in Lugo. Since 1979, he has been teaching Philosophy at 'Rosalía de Castro' Secondary School in Santiago.
He wrote the following books: Introducción á Filosofía (Vigo, 1979), Historia da Filosofía (Vigo, 1980), Filosofía de 1º (Madrid, 2000) and Historia da Filosofía (Madrid, 2001). He also wrote "A Filosofía de Luis Losada Quiroga", "Ágora, no. 2, 1982; "Filosofía e Ilustración en Galicia" in El pensamiento filosófico y político en la Ilustración Francesa, Santiago de Compostela University, 1992; "Ciencia e Filosofía na Galiza Ilustrada" in O pensamento galego na historia, Santiago de Compostela University, 1990; "Europa e a razón ilustrada: o caso galego" in Europa: mito e razón, Santiago de Compostela University, 2001 and several articles in Enciclopedia Gallega and newspapers (mainly in El Correo Gallego). As a critic, he has published several articles in the magazines 'Revista do Ensino' and 'Guía dos Libros Novos' and other means.
