He became a civil engineer in Madrid (1976) and did and MA in Economy and Business Management at Navarra University (1988) and took a degree in Economic Sciences at the Open University (1990). He attended courses on foundation with reinforced concrete and 'Controlling International Projects for Profitability'.

He wrote the book Impermeabilización del hormigón and gave lectures about environment.
