He took a degree in Geography and History at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
He started his nationalist affiliation in the student movement, taking part in the organization of ERGA between 1978 and 1986, becoming the national secretary. He also participated in the creation of the CAF.
He was a member of the ANPG until 1982 that he participated in the foundation of the present BNG. He was a member of the national council of the BNG, representing ERGA in the first middle of the 80’s, and returned to this organ in the 9th National Assembly, celebrated in 2001. From 1990 to 2003 he was the technical organization secretary of the BNG. In 2003 he was elected at the 9th National Assembly to join the National Executive Committee. He is the executive coordinator of this committee and was nominated as senator on 18th October 2005.
