He took a degree and a doctor's degree in Philosophy and Arts at Santiago de Compostela University. He attended several courses on French Language at several French Universities and got a diploma that enables him to teach French at St Cloud University (France). He worked as an assistant lecturer at the Business School in Lugo (1957-60), assistant lecturer of practical classes at 'Femenino' Secondary School in Lugo (1957-58), temporary teacher (1958-61), assistant lecturer at the Secondary School in Ourense (1962-63), French teacher at 'Femenino' Secondary School in Lugo (1962-90) and teacher at the Language School in Lugo (1987-90). He also filled the following offices: secretary of 'Femenino' Secondary School in Lugo (1963-66, 1969-72 and 1975-84), director of 'Xoan Montes' Secondary School in Lugo (1972-75) and director of the Language School in Lugo (1987-90).

He wrote the following books: La pronunciación francesa (Celta, Lugo, 1963), Las Cántigas de escarnio y maldecir de Alfonso X el Sabio (Alvarellos, 1973), La Secuencia de Santa Eulalia (Publications of 'Femenino' Secondary School in Lugo, 1981), El Cardenal de Retz y España (Publications of 'Femenino' Secondary School in Lugo, 1981), Galicia y Francia (in collaboration with J. Alonso) (Círculo de las Artes, Lugo, 1965), Cen anos de literatura galega (in collaboration with J. Alonso) (Círculo de las Artes, Lugo, 1964) and Castelao na voz dos poetas (in collaboration with J. Alonso and R. Palmás) ('Do Castro' Publications, A Coruña, 1970). He also wrote articles and gave many lectures.
