-Teacher of Secondary Education at Colegio Academia Galicia (A Coruña) from October 1970 to July 1981.
-Teacher of Geography, History and Art History at "Rafael Puga Ramón" Secondary School, dependent on A Coruña County Council from 1976 to 1988.
­-Member of the Socialist Party since 1981.
-Councillor in the City Council of A Coruña since 1986, being responsible for Social Services and Health.
-Deputy mayor responsible for the commemoration of the 4th centenary of María Pita.
-Deputy mayor responsible for Security.
-Councillor responsible for Personnel and Justice.
-Deputy mayor responsible for Institutional Relations.
-Deputy mayor responsible for the Welfare and Cooperation area.
-Today he is Deputy mayor responsible for Institutional Action, Education and Festivities.
-Provincial deputy during the sessions of 1987, 1995 (he was spokesman of the socialist party) and 1999.
-Member of different local and regional executive committees of the Socialist Party between 1981 and 2006.
-General Secretary of the Socialist Group of "Cuatro Caminos" (A Coruña) from 1989 to 2000.
