She took a degree in Economics at the University of Santiago de Compostela and a doctor’s degree at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. As for her activity related to teaching, she was vice-dean of the Academic Organization in the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies (A Coruña).

 Work & Activities

Her research lines focus on Macroeconomy and Health, Economy and Medical Care and Equity and Health Policy. Her doctoral thesis was awarded of the Institute of Fiscal Studies in the Public Economy Department.
She also directed several research and development projects, financed in public bids and has worked in research projects for different institutions such as the Ministry of Health, the Xunta de Galicia, the Generalitat and BBVA Foundation.

 Other Interesting Aspects

Berta Rivera was elected member of the advisory board of the Galician Public Health, associate researcher at the Research Centre on Economy and Health at Pompeu Fabra University and member of the Association of Health Economy and the International Health Economic Association (IHEA). She also published articles in national and international magazines and has participated as editor and author in different publications.
