He studied at the Seminary in Mondoñedo. He took a degree in Philosophy at Salamanca University and Sociology at Paris University. He worked as a teacher at the Seminary of Mondoñedo. Later on, he was the parish priest of 'Nuestra Señora del Socorro' (Ferrol) until 1987 and worked as a teacher in the College of Industrial Relations in Ferrol.

 Work & Activities

He was in charge of the Sociology Office and worked as a Professor in Mondoñedo. He also taught Philosophy at 'Peleteiro' School in Santiago. Since 1987, he taught Sociology at Santiago de Compostela University. In the last years, he took an active part in the social and cultural life of Ferrol. He founded several institutions such as 'Ateneo Ferrolán' and 'ASFEDRO' (an association to attend drug addict people). He collaborated with sociological studies for the Galician Pastoral Council and is a foundation member of the magazine 'Encrucillada' and the association 'Irimia'. Together with other authors, he wrote the books Meudon, une approche pastorale (Paris, 1970) and Catolicismo en España (I.S.A. Madrid, 1985). He also wrote the chapter 'Ferrol, estructura e identidade' in the book O feito diferencial galego, (volume 3), published by the 'Museo do Pobo Galego', 1991. He collaborated with articles in several newspapers but mainly in different magazines such as 'Encrucillada', 'Lucensia', 'Guía dos novos libros', 'Tempos Novos' and 'Irimia'.

 Other Interesting Aspects

He wrote texts for liturgical songs that were set to music by Father Feixoo, Miguel Varela and folk groups such as Fuxan os Ventos and Saraibas.
