Curriculum

He studied Secondary Education in Oviedo and Teaching in Lugo. After a public competition in 1960, he got a post as a teacher, working in Santander, Asturias and Lugo from 1961 to 1982. in 1979, he took a degree in Educational Sciences at the Open University. He worked as an adviser in the Support Pedagogical Office of the 'Consellería de Educación' (Xunta de Galicia) since 1983. Nowadays, he is the head of the Psychological Guidance Department at 'Rosalía de Castro' Secondary School in Santiago. In 1992, he joined the Cabinet of the 'conselleiro' responsible for Institutional Relations of the Xunta de Galicia to form art of the Department responsible for the organisation of Cultural Activities in the Xacobeo Year 1993. in January 1994, he was elected manager of the Galician Institute of Scenic and Musical Arts that had been crated two years before. This institute is a commercial autonomous body, dependent on the 'Consellería de Cultura' (Xunta de Galicia) that develops the cultural policy in relation with the production and promotion of theatre, dance and music activities. Nowadays, he is the managing director of the 'S.A. de Xestión do Plan Xacobeo' (he was nominated as managing director in April 2003).
