He took a degree in Law at Santiago University and works as Court solicitor. He has been devoting himself to poetry for over twenty years.

He took part in the groups 'Cravofondo' and 'De amor e desamor'. He published: Véspera do día, (Follas Novas Publications, Santiago, 1979). Alba de auga sonámbula (Celta Publications, Lugo, 1983). O sol entre os dedos (Do Castro Publications, Sada, 1993). Memoria de agosto (County Council of A Coruña, 1993) Anthologies: Desde a palabra doce veces by Luciano Rodríguez, 1986. Escolma da poesía galega by X. Lois García . Poesía Galega de Hoxe (Visor collection, Madrid, 1990). Los caminos de la voz, seis poetas gallegos de hoy (Maillot Amarillo Collection, Granada, 1995). Narrative: Anel de Mel, relatos eróticos (Vía Láctea Publications, 1991). Campo de Marte (Espiral Maior Publications, 1999). Present-day work: Campo de Marte (narrative) - a mixture of interlaced stories, psychological and human contrasts, humour and drama, honesty and abyection, violence and tenderness, losers, life seen as "zapping". He translated some books into Castilian, Catalan, English, Italian and Russian.

Prizes: -National Poetry Prize for people over 25. -'Guimaraes' Prize (Portugal). -'Celso Emilio Ferreiro' Prize (Santiago, 1979). -'Antonio Tovar' Prize (Ourense, 1993). -'Miguel González Garcés' Prize (A Coruña, 1993). -'Spanish Criticism Prize', 1994. National Criticism Prize in Galician Language, 2003 for his poetry book Casa última. He made the programme 'Entre libros' in the radio station 'Cadena SER' for several years. He appeared several times on TV and wrote several articles about Literary Criticism and Art. Hobbies: football, music and travelling.
