He took a doctor's degree in Philosophy. He worked as a Philosophy teacher of Secondary Education, visitor Professor at the Catholic University of Asunción (Paraguai), Professor of History of Old, Medieval, Modern and Contemporary History at the Open University (Ourense) and Philosophy teacher at 'St Agustin' Institute of Religious Sciences. He has given many courses on Anthropology and Ethics at Burgos University and Asunción University (Paraguay). He usually gives courses on Introduction to Bioethics, organised by Ourense Hospital.
He usually collaborates as a rapporteur in conferences and in the newspaper O Correo Galego and the radio station 'Onda Cero' (Ourense). He also collaborated in the newspaper La Región for five years. He published articles in the magazines 'Acontecimiento', 'Encrucillada', 'Guía dos libros novos', 'Nous', in the newspaper La Voz de Galicia and specialised magazines on Anthropology, Ethics and Bioethics. He published the following books: Sobre a alegría, Espiral Maior, 1995; Alén da libido. Do sexo á sexualidade, Espiral Maior, 1998; Unha ética da economía. Da ética neoliberal á ética personalista, Do Castro Publications, 1999; Joaquina de Vedruna, Monte Carmelo, 1999; Fons societatis, Liceo de Ourense, 2000; Historia da Filosofía (in collaboration with Moisés Lozano and Manuel Rivas), Mc Graw Hill Galicia, 2001; La revolución personalista y comunitaria en Mounier, Editorial Mounier, 2002 e Emmanuel Mounier, Bahía, 2002. He also participated in several collective books such as Diccionario de Pensamiento Contemporáneo, Ser cristiano en el siglo XXI, Castelao no seu tempo and Actas das Xornadas sobre Eladio Rodríguez González.
He was awarded 'Espiral Maior' Essay Prize (first prize) for his book Alén da líbido. Do sexo á sexualidade and 'Liceo de Ourense' Essay Prize (first prize, 2000) for his work Fons societatis.
