Degree and doctor’s degree in Biology at the University of Santiago. 1997-2001: She was delegate of the ‘Consellería de Pesca, Marisqueo e Acuicultura’ in Vigo (Pontevedra). 2001-2005: She was director general responsible for Innovation and Fishing Development in the ‘Consellería de Pesca e Asuntos Marítimos’. 2005: Civil servant of the Xunta de Galicia.

In 2009 she was designated Conselleira do Mar, and since 2011 she is Conselleira do Medio Rural e do Mar.
