He took a doctor’s degree in Chemistry and directed the Research and Technology Department of the University of Santiago de Compostela. He took a doctor’s degree in Chemistry and directed the Research and Technology Office of the University of Santiago de Compostela. He was responsible for the technical and administrative management of R & D activity and technology transference at the University of Compostela. He coordinated the Office Network for the technology transference of the Spanish universities and was a member of the board of directors of the Spanish Science and Technology Foundation, participating in several reports on scientific policy and technology.

 Work & Activities

He has given lectures in many courses related to research management, innovation and technology transference. From 1994 to 2000, he co-directed the MA in Analysis and Management of Technological Innovation, organized by the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is an expert in ceramic materials and is the president of the Galician Institute of Ceramics, mixed entity created by the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Galician Association of Ceramic Industries. He published scientific and technical articles related to this matter and participated in many autonomic and national and European R&D projects and contracts.

He was elected director general for Scientific and Technologic Promotion of the Galician University System. He is married and has two daughters.
