He took a degree in Biology and Pharmacy (Santiago de Compostela University), a diploma in Optometry and Audiometric Acoustics (Santiago de Compostela University) and Ophtalmic Optics (Granada University) and a diploma in Health and Marketing. He attended some doctoral courses on Aquiculture and did an MA in Environment and European Communities (Foreign Office). He is a real estate agent. He attended different courses on Ecology, Water analysis, food technology, protocol and public relations as well as conferences and national and international seminars. He gave lectures on camellia. Nowadays, he works as a pharmacist , directs the wine cellar 'Pazo Quinteiro da Cruz S.L.' (Rías Baixas) and works as a real state agent. He directed the Galician Optics Office in Vilagarcía de Arousa (Pontevedra).
He is a consultant of the institution 'Puertos de Galicia', president of the Galician Boat-race Club and director of the 'Camelly International Society' in Spain. He was awarded the following distinctions: 'Cabaleiro do Capítulo Serenísimo do Albariño e da Irmandade de Vinhos Galegos', 'Cabaleiro da Orden da Vieira' and 'Cabaleiro da Orden do Mar'.
