María Hervera

Birth Date: In 1972
Birth Place: Lugo

She took a degree in Journalism at the UCM and attended different courses and script workshops at the UCM, ECAM, SGAE-Fundación Autor and Ars-Media.

She worked as a journalist, documentary maker and scriptwriter for several producers before signing her first script as author.

 Work & Activities

She is co-scriptwriter of 'Garbo, el espía (El hombre que salvó el mundo)' and was awarded Gaudí Prize of the Acadèmia del Cinema Catalá for the Best Script and Alma Prize of the Union of Scriptwriters for the Best Documentary Script (2010). The film, directed by Edmón Roch, was also awarded the Goya and Gaudí Prizes for the Best Documentary Film in 2010. She was selected in different festivals all around the world, got mentions and was awarded the ‘Giraldillo de Oro’ in the European Cinema Festival of Seville and the Variety Critic´s Choice at the Cinema Festival of Karlovy Vary.

María Hervera and his brother, Marcos, were codirectors of the documentary film 'AVIÓN, el pueblo ausente' (2012), coproduced by 14Pies, Filmanova, TVE, Minotauro and TVUNAM.
