He studied Philosophy at St Antonio Convent in A Poboa do Caramiñal (A Coruña) and at Fonseca School in Santiago in 1796, where he also filled the office of rector.

His activity as a preacher was printed in the following publications: Oración fúnebre (1798), El Abrahan de la ley de gracia. Panegírico del Apóstol y Patrón de las Españas... (1807), El Duque Santo. Panegírico de San Francisco de borja... (1807), Oración eucarística, predicada en la iglesia mayor de San Julián del Ferrol... (1808), Oración fúnebre por el doctor D. José Severo López (1808), Felipe Peláez Caunedo, obispo y señor de Lugo (1811) and Oración eucarística predicada en [...] la Santa Iglesia Catedral de La ciudad de Lugo [...] por la libertad y feliz restablecimiento de S.M. el Sr. D. Fernando VII en el trono de sus mayores (1814).

 Other Interesting Aspects

He was a member of the Academy of History since 1802 and knight of the Order of Carlos III. In his will he left most of his fortune for the poor and the Charity Hospital of Ferrol. Besides, he also left donations for El Escorial, Ourense’s cathedral, the Academy of Fine Arts, etc.
