His parents were peasants and he emigrated to Cuba when he was still very young. There, where he worked in the hotel business and later in a furniture factory. Then he travelled to Argentina, returning to Mondoñedo in 1921 to work as a river keeper. When the revolt took place, he ran away to the mountains and hid in the houses of his friends. His most active moment, from the military point of view, took place between 1939 and 1941. Between 1942 and 1947, he acted against priests, blackmarketeers, civil servants, politicians and local bosses. He used the money he got to keep his structure and help people in need.
