He studied Secondary Education in Lugo. Then he moved to Madrid to go in for a public competition to enter the Corps of Customs Officers. When he came back to Lugo in 1963, he started to work for the newspaper El Progreso. Besides, he created the associations 'Cineforum Lugo' and 'Club Cultural Valle-Inclán'. He also organised in Lugo the first exhibition of the group 'A Gadaña' that was directed by Raimundo Patiño, who was dedicated a collection of lithographies. He went back to Madrid, where he got in touch with Anxel Johan thanks to his son González Doreste, who was his best friend together with Iglesias Requejo. For almost twenty years, he met Celestino Fernández de la Vega and Ánxel Fole in many famous cafés in Lugo such as 'Café España', 'Lugo Bar', 'Alameda' and 'Madrid'. He made friends with Ramón Piñeiro, Aníbal Otero, Novoneyra, and many others such as Camilo Gonsar, Méndez Ferrín, López Casanova and Manuel María. He married Josefa Cabana and has three children.

 Work & Activities

In addition to a great number of journalistic articles and others about literary criticism, he published El campesino lucense and El señorío eclesiástico (Lugo, 1977), Los liberales lucenses (1808-1854) (Sada, 1981) Manuel Becerra ministro das Colonias (Sada, 1998), Matías López, espejo de empresarios (A Coruña, 2001) as well as many articles published in the Bulletin of Lugo's Museum (1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-2000). These are some of the most important articles ?O ferrocarril, unha frustración galega? (1995-96), ?Pallares, protector de Cumeros? (1995-96), ?Apuntes sobre o Carlismo Lugués? (1997-98), ?Nacemento do Reloxo do Consistorio?, ?A Luz de Gas en Lugo? (1997-98), and Gregorio Fernández, su persona y su obra (1999-2000), which got the first prize at the second edition of 'Meigas e Trasgos' Contest.

 Other Interesting Aspects

He got 'Meigas e Trasgos' Prize on two occasions for Apuntes para unha Historia Social de Sarria and Gregorio Fernández, a súa persona e a súa obra. He also got 'Convivio' Prize in Guimaraes (Portugal) for Apuntes para unha historia social de Xermade. He also got other journalistic prizes. In 1971, he directed the Festival of Amateur Cinema at the 'Círculo das Artes' in Lugo.
