She graduated in Chant and Violin and improved her studies at the Musikhochschule of Karlsruhe in Germany, thanks to the prestigious grant Alexander von Humboldt, and worked with Professors Aldo Baldín, Anna Reynolds and Jean Cox.

 Work & Activities

She entered the Essen Theater (Germany) when she was twenty-three and performed “Mimí”, in La Bohéme, “Gilda” in Rigoletto, “Susanna” in Figaro, “Zdenka” in Arabella, “Pamina “ in The Magic Flute and “Blanche” in Carmelites, among others. She was also awarded the prize to the most outstanding artist by popular vote.
She usually acts in famous international halls and theatres such as the Rishon Le Zion Auditorium (Israel), Philarmonie of Cologne, Musikhalle of Hamburg, Konzerthaus of Berlin and Essen, Kruppel Saal of Hannover (Germany), Herodes Aticus of Athens, Concertgebouw of Amsterdam and Los Ángeles Auditorium (USA), among others.
She was awarded the first prize at the Alfredo Kraus Contest, together with Franco Corelli, Verviers or Jaume Aragall.
Nowadays, she sings with prestigious directors (Ion Marin, Philipp Jordan, Stefan Soltesz, Carlos Kalmar and Jiri Kôut) in important European theatres (Pisa, Düsseldorf, Mannheim, Leipzig, Darmstadt, Lübek, etc.), playing several opera roles such as “Antonia”, “Zerbinetta”, “Oscar”, “Lucía”, “Nannetta” or “Sophie”.
She collaborated with Pilavachi, De Tomasi, Johannes Schaaf, Pontiggia and Hilsdorf in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santander Festivals, Royamount Festival, Expo of Hannover, the Autumn Festival of Madrid and The Opera Week of Berlin.
She played the role of “Giulia” in La Scala di seta in a tour with the Freiburger Barockorchester, under the direction of Attilio Cremonesi and made her brilliant debut with Ariadne auf Naxos at the Staatsoper of Berlin. She was awarded the Diapasor D’or of the French critic for her debut at the Innsbruck Festival (Austria), playing the role of “Cleopatra” in Giulio Cesare, by Antonio Sartorio.
She also played “Magda” in La Rondine, performed in Utrech and conducted by Gómez Martínez and “Sandrina” in La Finta Giardiniera in Salzburg on the occasion of The Year of Mozart.
She will perform Carmen in Santander and A Coruña. In A Coruña, she will also perform The rescue of Penelope by Britten.
Her most ambitious project is a CD or unknown arias by Belcanto, a work in collaboration with the Malaga Philarmonic Orchestra, published in December 2006. Laura Alonso is living in Berlin at the moment and goes on improving her musical education with Anna Reynolds and Irmgaard Hartmann.
