He took a degree in Nursing, Public Health and Acupuncture. He attended several courses such as the course on Pedagogical Aptitude, an MA in theatral and cinematographic means at A Coruña University, courses for teachers of Galician dance and a course of creative contemporary dance. He also attended the following conferences: First Conference on Folklore of the Autonomous Regions, First Conference on Galician Folklore, Conferences on Ethnology and Ethnography of Asturias, courses on audiovisual archives of the School of Librarians (Salamanca University), International Conference on Galician Culture, Symposium on cultural Anthropology 'Nos lindeiros da galeguidade', International Symposium on Anthropology 'Rito e misterio', Second International Conferences on Didactics of cinema and theatre and a course with the teacher José Campanary on how to tell stories.
Since 1975 he has carried out his job as folklorist (teacher of traditional dance, researcher and choreographer) and cultural activist. He founded over six cultural groups in Lugo. Besides, he worked as presenter on Lugo's TV and collaborated in the radio station 'Radio Voz'. He also colaborated in the newspaper La Voz de Galicia, directed courses and conferences on traditional culture and collaborated with cultural themes in many associations, city councils and other institutions such as the 'Consellería de Educación e Ordenación Universitaria'.Together with other authors, he collaborated in several publications about the traditional regional costume and dance in Galicia such as 'Arredor da vida', 'Método de baile galego', 'O traxe na Terra Cha' and 'A cultura tradicional' that were published in the weekly magazine of the newspaper La Voz de Galicia. Nowadays, he carries out ethnographical works and teaches traditional culture.
He is on the 'Consello de Cultura' at the County Council and City Council of Lugo.
