He studied Law in Salamanca. In 1636 he was nominated as judge of the Audiencia of Santa Fe in New Spain and was promoted to public prosecutor in 1948.

He wrote Del juez perfecto, in Latin and published Axiomas del Derecho, De los Alimentos, Distinción de lo temporal y lo eterno and Cartas laudatorias in Spanish.
