-Doctor specialized in Psychiatry. -Doctor's degree in Social Anthropology. -Psychiatry assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine in Santiago. -Psychiatrist at the Clinical Hospital in Santiago. -Member of the Ethnomedicine section at the 'Museo do Pobo Galego'. -From 1970 to 1975 he was the head of 'Conxo' psychiatric hospital, just when a troubled reform was taking place at this institution, which is a pioneer in the transformation movements of the traditional psychiatric assistance. -Founder and director of the Psychosocial Centre in Ferrol from 1975 to 1978, an important experience of community Psychiatry. -From 1970 to 1978 he worked as rural doctor in Cotobade and Rodeiro (Pontevedra). -Expert in themes about Community Mental Health and Anthropology applied to health.
