He studied Teaching and Arts in Santiago de Compostela, where he founded the newspaper La República. He was editor-in-chief of La Voz de Galicia, editor of the political magazine 'Adelante', president of the Republican Casino of A Coruña, secretary of the Mayor Manuel Iglesias Corral and founder of the satirical magazine 'La Ciudad' (A Coruña). He went to Paris into exile when the Civil War was over and edited the magazine 'La Nouvelle Espagne' and the newspaper República.
He wrote the following books: El regionalismo gallego, Estudio crítico de Pondal and Voces al viento: coplas de César Alvajar.
