He teaches Religion at Perdouro Secondary School in Burela (Lugo) and is the president of ‘Os Matos’ Cultural Association. He was a catechist at Santiago de Foz parish church, member of the liturgy group and member of the Parish Council.
As for his research works, mainly based on the cultural heritage of A Mariña and the province of Lugo, he gave several lectures: ‘Historia de la educación en Foz’, ‘Escola de Fondós-Gardería Infantil: 250 anos de historia’, ‘A vida focense e a súa relación co Asilo de Anciáns’, ‘Foz na obra de Noriega e Cunqueiro’, ‘El patrimonio cultural y religioso en la provincia de Lugo’, ‘El patrimonio cultural y religioso de la Mariña’, ‘Islas e islotes de la Mariña de Lugo’, ‘Semana Santa’, ‘Camino de Santiago’, ‘Israel: la tierra de Jesús hoy’, ‘Roma: Ciudad de Encuentro’, ‘Ano 2000 – Ano Xubilar’, ‘O cristián, peregrino no novo milenio’ and ‘A Eucaristía: O Pan da Vida’. He also gave a speech in Mondoñedo at Easter and at St Campio Festivities in Fazouro.
He also collaborated in several publications and media, carried out audiovisual projections (‘75º Aniversario de la Cofradía de Pescadores de Foz’) and several photography exhibitions: ‘Foz: as nosas festas’; ‘Xentes do mar de Foz’; ‘A muller de Foz no século XX’, ‘A Festa do Bispo Santo’ and ‘Alfombras florais das festas do Carme de Foz’.
He published the following books: ‘Asilo Nosa Señora do Carme. A súa historia’ (1997), ‘IES Perdouro-20 anos de vida’ (2000) and ‘Arredor da Virxe do Carme’ (2004).
He coordinates ‘Maruxía’ and several works published by ‘Os Matos’ Cultural Association: ‘Refráns mariñeiros’, ‘Medallistas olímpicos galegos do século XX’, ‘O románico no Norte de Lugo’, ‘O gótico no Norte de Lugo’, ‘Illas e illotes da costa luguesa’ and ‘Faros e balizas da costa luguesa’.
He was awarded Manuel María Prize in Foz for his cultural activity.
