He took a degree in Philosophy and Education Sciences at the University of Santiago. He specialized in two branches of Pedagogy: Educational Orientation and Educational Administration.

 

 Work & Activities

From 1988 to 2001, he was the president of the Galician Social and Pedagogical Association (AS-PG).

During the academic year 1985-86, he enjoyed a scholarship in Lisbon, sponsored by the Department of Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From 1989 to 2001, he directed ‘Xornadas de Ensino de Galicia’. These conferences for non-university teachers take place every year in A Coruña.

He was a member of the organizing committee of several conferences and symposia such as ‘I Simposio Internacional de Linguas europeas e lexislacións’ (Santiago de Compostela, 1992), ‘Castelao na Galiza do s. XX’ (A Coruña, 1999), ‘Castelao co pensamento en Galiza’ (Pontevedra, 2000) and ‘Simposio Internacional de linguas sen normalizar’ (Pontevedra, 2001).

He is the joint author of ‘Eduardo Blanco Amor. Álbum de literatura’ and the Philosophy textbook for the first course of Secondary Education.

He coordinated over twenty books in Galician for non-university education and ‘Enciclopedia – Antoloxía da literatura galega’. This project was developed in a three-year period (1995-98) with a collection of fifty representative books of Galician literature and other fifty fascicles that constituted a history of Galician literature. This project was subsidized by the Commission of the Communities.
