He studied Philosophy and Arts (History section) at Santiago de Compostela University. He taught History at the French Lyceum, in Quito (Ecuador) and then he filled the office of dean in the Faculty of Humanities in Maracaibo (Venezuela).

 Work & Activities

Xoan Astorga had important narrative skills and knowledge but he did not write any book. We only preserve a diary he wrote in an expedition around Arousa and Marín, in which he participated with Álvaro de las Casas and his pupils.
