Doctor of Theology at the Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA) and Philosophy at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) with a thesis about the interreligious theology and the intercultural philosophy of Raimon Panikkar. Bacherlor's degree of Philosophy and Theology (1973-79) in  Santiago de Compostela and degree in Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical University of Salamanca (1981). He also attended courses on Theology and Holy Scripture at 'Comillas' University in Madrid (1994-95). Miguel Anxo Araúxo Iglesias ordained him as a priest in 1981. He was the parish priest in Lagoa, Ubeda, Cadavedo and Loboso ('Terras da Corda' in A Pastoriza), Xove, A Rigueira and Monte (in the coast of Lugo) and San Xoán de Filgueira and San Paulo de Catabois (Ferrol). He was director of Retreat. From 1988 to 1995, he worked as a teacher at the Secondary School of Burela and at the Diocesan School of Theology. He was a Professor at the Universities of A Coruña (UDC) and directed courses of Menéndez Pelayo International University. He edited the magazine 'Irimia' (a magazine of Galician religious people) from 1981 to 1983. Since 1981, he has been on the editorial staff of 'Encrucillada' (Galician magazine of Christian thought).

He is a prolific writer of newspapers, magazines and books. He collaborated with opinion articles in “El Progreso” (1985-1994), “Diario de Ferrol” (1999-2005) and “La Voz de Galicia” (2005-2010); he also collaborated in “La Región”, “El Faro de Vigo”, “Heraldo de Vivero”, “La Comarca del Eo"... He was the editor of ‘Irimia’ and is on the editorial staff of ‘Encrucillada’, publishing a lot of articles in both magazines. He was also a usual collaborator in “A Nosa Terra” and ocasional collaborator in other Galician magazines ("Grial", "Lumieira", "Tempos", "Guía de libros", “Ferrol-Análisis”, “Lucensia”, “Criterios”, "Galegos", "Agora"...), Spanish (“Iglesia Viva”,"Vida Nueva", "Alandar", "El Prado", “Noticias Obreras”, “Dialogal”, "El Ciervo", "Dialogal. Quaderns de l'Unesco"...) and foreign ones ("Revista Theologica Xaveriana", Bogotá, "CIRPIT review", where he also belongs to the scientific committee). In “Más allá de la fragmentación de la teología el saber y la vida: Raimon Panikkar” (Valencia, 2008) and “Dios, Hombre Mundo. La Trinidad en Raimon Panikkar” (Barcelona, 2008), he deepens in the intercultural thought and the interreligious theology, mainly the relationship with hinduism and buddhism.
