He got Castelao's medal. From 1978 to 1989, he was vice-president and delegate of the bank firm 'Banco Exterior de España'. From 1990 to 1998, he was the president of 'Natwest' group in Spain and president of the bank firm 'Banco de Asturias' until 1996. From 1983 to 1989, he was also vice-president of the bank firm 'Banco Atlántico'.
