He took a degree in Medicine and Surgery (Santiago University). He is a sanitary inspector, expert on Preventive Medicine and Public Health and doctor in Medicine and Surgery (Santiago University). He was an assistant lecturer at Vigo and Santiago Universities. He directed the Centre of Environmental Health in Santiago and filled the offices of provincial delegate of Health in Ourense and director general of Public Health. Nowadays, he is a Professor in the department of Functional Biology and Health Sciences in the Faculty of Sciences (Campus of Ourense - Vigo University).

 Work & Activities

He published the following books: Contos de Vilago de Ribadela (1990), El termalismo en Galicia en la década de los ochenta (1988), Estudio histórico bibliográfico del termalismo: Principales urgencias de la provincia de Orense (1995) and works and articles in other books and magazines. He took part in national and international conferences and many courses.

 Other Interesting Aspects

He is a member of the Academy of Medicine and Surgery, vice-president of the Galician Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics and honourable president of the Association of Spanish former alcoholic people. He got the honourable diploma from the Medical and Surgical Academy of Ourense, an honourable mention from the Galician Academy of Medicine and Surgery, the prize of the national contest of Social Pediatrics (1981) and the gold medal of O Carballiño.
