Curriculum

After studying Secondary Education at ‘Manuel Peleteiro’ School (1962-69), he took a degree in Mathematics at Santiago de Compostela University (1969-74). As far as his teaching activity is concerned, he started as a temporary teacher and shortly after as a teacher of Mathematics at ‘Carlos Mª Rodríguez de Valcarcel’ Secondary School in Ribadeo (today the so-called ‘Dionisio Gamallo Fierros’ Secondary School). He has been deputy head and principal on several occasions at that centre.

As a politician, he represented the Popular Party in the opposition in the City Council of Ribadeo (1991-95), he was mayor from 1995 to 2003 and first vicepresident of the County Council of Lugo since 1999. Since 2009 he is Territorial Chief of Consellería de Cultura e Turismo in Lugo.
