He studied Medicine in Santiago of Compostela, taking a doctor's degree in 1889. He practised in his native town.
He began to collaborate in the newspaper El Lucense and then in La Idea Moderna and El Regional. In 1900, he founded and edited El Monitor de Becerreá. His first novel, Los contrastes de la vida, was published in 1888. He also worked in the publications El Siglo Médico and El Diario Médico-Farmacéutico. These are some of his most important books: Hospitalización de los tísicos o tuberculosos pulmonares (1890); El Ensayo de topografía médica de la provincia de Lugo (Lugo, 1891); Los pecados y vicios capitales en el concepto médico, social y religiosos (Lugo, 1898); Tratamiento a que deben someterse los delincuentes; El trabajo y la salud. Influencia recíproca de estos factores en la duración de la vida humana; Minas de la provincia y ferrocarriles más económicos para su explotación (Lugo, 1900); Historia fin de siglo (1902)...
He was a member of the Academy of Medicine and Surgery in Barcelona and the Academy of Medicine in Madrid. He was awarded many prizes and distinctions for his works and publications. Thanks to Antonio Correa, the spa in Guitiriz was one of the most important ones in Galicia.
