-Observer of the elections in Russia (1994), representing the European Union. In 1999, he returned to the European Parliament as a deputy in representation of Coalición Galega.

-Observer of the elections in Ukraine (2004) representing the Congress of the USA.

-Deputy of the European Parliament, representing Coalición Galega (July 1993 – July 1994).

-President of the Consello Regulador de Denominación de Orixe “ORUJO DE GALICIA”. Dende abril de 1992 a decembro de 1996.

-President of the Business Association of San Cibrao das Viñas Industrial State in Ourense (60 firms) until 1984 that he gave up as he became president of the board of directors of Caixa Ourense.

-He collaborated in “Bouquet” (in this magazine he published several articles related to Galician wines), “Sobremesa” and “Guía de Bodegas de España”.

-Reports and works about the industrialization of Galician mushrooms in the Second Galician Mycological Week.

-Member of the organising commission of “Jornadas Técnicas de Estudio y mejora de los vinos gallegos”. The book was published by Caixa Rural in 1984.

-He wrote articles about wines for “ABC” (Madrid) and “A Nosa Terra” (1989).

-He collaborated in “Gran Enciclopedia Gallega” in the definition of the term “viño” (1989).

-He wrote many articles in Galician newspapers such as “La Región”, “La Voz de Galicia”, “Faro de Vigo” and “Revista ECO” mainly about politics, wine and gastronomy.
